STEPS TO KITING FOR THE FIRST TIMER....
1) Fly a trainer and watch an instructional video.
-
This is the first step involved in learning to kiteboard. This is where
you learn the basic controls of the kite on land with a trainer kite setup
on a bar. It is a small kite that’s practically indestructible and that
won’t pull you around so you can practice in a safe and controlled manner.
- We believe this step
can be done on your own without an instructor present so that when you
come start your lessons you already have the basic skill necessary to
begin.
- The
trainer kite and video are available to rent for $10 / day, 5 days for $40
or you can buy your own.
2) Take a lesson with an instructor.
- Now that you have
become comfortable with the trainer kite, it is time to begin your kiteboard lessons with an instructor.
- Our package runs 3
hours. In that time we will run through all the skills you will need to
know to safely go out and kiteboard. We will teach you the about wind,
how to setup up and check your equipment, how to launch and land
correctly, how to get power out of your kite, how your safety systems
work, how to water re-launch, do body dragging where you’ll learn how to
control your kite and your body in the water, and finally start you on the
board.
- This package is
$255
per person and we supply all the gear and equipment.
- Hourly lessons are
also available for $85 / hour.
3) Go out and ride!
